Ghanaian Afrobeats star Mr Drew recently discussed the importance of music reality shows for up-and-coming artists in an interview on Asaase Cape Coast’s Rush Hour #celebchitchat segment with RazaSwaggy. He pointed out the numerous benefits of participating in these competitions, including the exposure, publicity, and fan base they provide.
Mr Drew, who became well-known after finishing as the first runner-up on season six of the MTN Hitmaker show in 2017, emphasized how these shows can significantly shape the careers of aspiring artists. He noted that interactions with judges, industry professionals, and idols during the competitions can help participants build valuable connections.
He explained that judges play a crucial role in helping participants develop into artists who can make a global impact, which is why their feedback may sometimes seem harsh. Mr Drew encouraged contestants to believe in themselves and not be discouraged by the outcome of the competition, emphasizing that success is possible regardless of the judges’ comments.
“No matter what the judges say, you can still move on and excel in life,” he added, urging participants to keep faith in their abilities and continue pursuing their dreams.
The dance video for his new song ‘Sneaky’ is captivating to watch, just like the song itself. It highlights how the artist is continuously evolving in the music industry, delivering hit after hit.
