    The world awoke to a bitter reality on the morning of May 31st as Legendary Ghanaian Author Prof. Ama Ata Aidoo Reported Dead. The air was thick with grief as the news of the passing of an esteemed scholar, accomplished author, and former Education Minister – Professor Ama Ata Aidoo spread like wildfire.     Ama Ata Aidoo was born on 23 March 1942 in Abeadzi Kyiakor, near Saltpond, in the Central Region of Ghana. Her life’s work touched the lives of countless generations. Her brilliance shone through every genre, from novels and plays to short stories, children’s books, and poetry. Her name will forever go down in history as one of the most significant voices in African literature.

    The pain of her loss has cut deep into our souls, and we are still reeling from the shock. Her family has released a statement requesting privacy as they mourn their beloved relative and writer. Ama Ata Aidoo’s absence will be felt for a long time to come. Her twin brother, Kwame Ata, is surely devastated by this tragic news.
