Videos of self-acclaimed African dancehall king Shatta Wale leaving the court whiles been hailed and chanted with mixed reaction and the dancehall king himself ranting along whiles security escorted him to a van to be transported into police custody for a one week period after he pleaded not guilty of the accusation that he hoaxed a reported shooting.

Shatta Wale and three other accomplices have been remanded in police custody for a week. On their first appearance in court, they were remanded by an Accra Circuit Court on Thursday, October 21, 2021. A fourth accomplice who is also a member of Wale’s crew was arrested on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
Shatta Wale pleaded not guilty to the charge of the publication of false news and causing fear and panic. His accomplices, Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Idris Yusif, and Eric Venator, who have been charged with aiding and abetting crime, will also spend the next week in police custody.
They both pleaded not guilty to the charge as well. The four people are scheduled to appear in court again on October 26, 2021. The musician and his entourage have already been detained by police for two nights. Shatta Wale was arrested on Tuesday after police announced that they were looking for him in connection with the spread of false information that he had been shot in Accra’s East Legon.
In a Facebook post prior to his arrest on Tuesday, he apologized to his fans and those affected by the prank. He alluded to Bishop Stephen Kwesi Appiah of New Life Kingdom Chapel’s prophecy that he would be assassinated on October 18, 2021. Bishop Stephen Kwesi Appiah, also known as ‘Jesus Ahoufe’ of New Life Kingdom Chapel, who has also been arrested and charged with causing fear and panic, is scheduled to appear in court today [October 21, 2021].
