DJ Lord OTB – This is Gyakie (Mixtape)

On September 5, 2025, Ghanaian DJ DJ Lord OTB released This Is Gyakie, a new entry in his popular Essential Mix series. The mixtape, which lasts 1 hour and 2 seconds, takes listeners through the amazing voice and songs of Gyakie, one of Ghana’s fastest-rising stars. It is available on SoundCloud.

DJ Lord OTB, also called Lord Barnes, has been one of Ghana’s top DJs for over ten years. He is known for his skill in creating exciting mixes that highlight African music. His hard work has earned him awards like Mixtape of the Year (2022 and 2023), 3 Music Awards DJ of the Year (2024), and Best DJ in Greater Accra at the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards (2024). Recently, he has also dropped mixes such as This Is Asakaa and This Is Joey B.

Gyakie, born Jackline Acheampong, is the daughter of highlife legend Nana Acheampong. She entered the music scene in 2019 and rose to fame with her 2020 EP Seed, which included the hit “Forever.” The song went Platinum in South Africa and made her a household name. In 2022, she released My Diary, featuring Nigerian star Davido. She has continued to impress with singles like “December,” “Sankofa,” and “Unconditional.”

This year, Gyakie dropped her debut album After Midnight, a 17-track project about self-love, healing, and identity. The album features artists like 6LACK, Shatta Wale, and Omar Sterling. Alongside the album, she released a new single called “Breaking News.”

This Is Gyakie is more than a mix—it is a celebration of her journey and proof that she is on her way to becoming one of Africa’s most important voices.
