DJ Lord OTB – Rewind 8 (Mixtape)

Award-winning Ghanaian disc jockey DJ Lord OTB has returned with “Rewind Vol. 8,” the eighth instalment of his popular Rewind mixtape series. This edition takes listeners back to the earlier days of dancehall, bringing together memorable records that dominated the genre more than a decade ago.

For this particular edition, DJ Lord OTB moves away from current releases and concentrates on classic dancehall songs that helped shape the genre’s popularity. The selection revisits an era when Jamaican dancehall was making a significant impact on music lovers across Ghana and other parts of Africa.

Known among his followers as the “King of Mixtapes,” DJ Lord OTB has earned recognition for his ability to put together engaging music collections. His Rewind series has become an important part of his catalogue, giving listeners an opportunity to revisit songs that may no longer receive regular attention on contemporary playlists.

“Rewind Vol. 8” continues that approach with a strong focus on old-school dancehall. Through carefully arranged selections and smooth transitions, DJ Lord OTB creates a continuous listening experience that allows fans to enjoy familiar sounds without interruption.

The mixtape also highlights the lasting influence of Jamaican dancehall on Ghanaian music. Over the years, the genre has inspired several Ghanaian musicians and contributed to the development of the country’s dancehall movement.

For listeners who grew up enjoying dancehall music during its earlier years, this edition offers an opportunity to revisit those memories. Younger audiences can equally use the mix to discover records that influenced the sounds heard in today’s dancehall scene.

With eight editions now forming part of the Rewind series, DJ Lord OTB continues to demonstrate his interest in preserving memorable music through his DJ mixes.

Whether you are preparing for a weekend gathering, taking a long drive or simply interested in classic dancehall, “Rewind Vol. 8” offers a collection worth exploring.
