Ghana’s celebrated dancehall icon Shatta Wale, real name Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., has just unveiled his latest single “Playboy,” released via his imprint Shatta Movement Empire. The audio premiered on YouTube with an engaging official release slide video, adding to the excitement of fans across the globe.

Clocking in at approximately 3 minutes and 10 seconds, “Playboy” is already available for free mp3 download and streaming across platforms like YouTube Music, continuing Wale’s tradition of making his music widely accessible.

The song was performed and written by Shatta Wale himself. The production is handled by Shatta Music, which is part of the in-house team under his brand. While well-known producers like WillisBeatz are not specifically credited on this track, it aligns with Wale’s recent trend of collaborating with his internal production unit.

“Playboy” is built around energetic beats, catchy hooks, and Wale’s signature bravado. It fuses dancehall with Afrobeat influences, creating a sound that is perfect for both club rotation and radio airplay. Lyrically, the song carries themes of self-confidence, lifestyle, and street charm, making it instantly relatable to his fanbase.

As of July 2025, Shatta Wale remains one of Africa’s most consistent music hitmakers. His recent tracks include “Money Is Coming,” “Shoulder,” “Black Road,” “Fame,” “Ashawo Friend,” and “Big Dreamer.” These releases highlight his continued relevance in the Ghanaian and global music space.[irp posts=”136208″ ]

Since the release of “Playboy,” social media has been buzzing with excitement. Platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook have seen fans sharing and reacting to the track, with many praising its addictive chorus and production value. The song is quickly gaining momentum on TikTok as well, with users incorporating it into dance and lifestyle videos.
