Ghanaian artiste Lu-Ci delivers a thought-provoking message in his single “Benyaaale,” a record that shines a light on the growing problem of drug abuse among young people. Released on 8 May 2026, the song was written by Lu-Ci and produced by DareMameBeat (DMB).
The title “Benyaaale” comes from the Akan Bono language and translates to “They Are Not Sick.” Through this phrase, Lu-Ci draws attention to a troubling reality in society: many young people are not ill, yet they continue to consume drugs every day. The song questions this behaviour and encourages listeners to think about the long-term effects of substance abuse.
Instead of treating the issue lightly, Lu-Ci uses music to start an important conversation. His lyrics highlight how drug addiction can affect individuals, families and communities, while reminding the youth that they do not need drugs to fit in, escape challenges or enjoy life.

DareMameBeat provides a fitting production that supports the message without taking attention away from the lyrics. The instrumental allows Lu-Ci’s words to remain the focus, making it easier for listeners to connect with the story he is telling.
At a time when conversations around drug abuse continue to grow in Ghana, “Benyaaale” stands out as a socially conscious release. It shows that music can be more than entertainment by addressing real-life issues that affect everyday people.
With its meaningful concept and clear message, “Benyaaale” is a song that encourages reflection while reminding listeners to make healthy and responsible choices.
