Black Sherif (Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong), born January 9, 2002, in Konongo, Ghana, is a singer-songwriter and rapper who has become one of Ghana’s leading musical voices. He blends highlife, drill, reggae, and hip hop while singing in both Twi and English. He first gained national and international attention with 2021’s First Sermon, Second Sermon, and especially Kwaku the Traveller, which topped music charts in Ghana and Nigeria. His debut album, The Villain I Never Was (2022), was followed by his sophomore album Iron Boy (April 3, 2025), which explores resilience and triumph and features guests like Fireboy DML and Seyi Vibez.
