Born Wendy Asiamah Addo on February 20, 1996, in Accra, Ghana, Wendy Shay is a renowned singer and songwriter known for her contributions to the Afropop and Afrobeat genres. After relocating to Stuttgart, Germany, following her father’s death, she pursued her education and developed a passion for music, attending a music school in Bernhausen. She returned to Ghana to pursue her musical career and was introduced to music by Rufftown Records Manager Bullet, signing with the label in January 2018. Her debut single, “Uber Driver,” released on June 1, 2018, marked the beginning of her successful career in the Ghanaian music industry.
In recent years, Wendy Shay has continued to make significant strides in her career. She has released several singles, including “Sapiosexual” and “Psycho” in 2025, further establishing her presence in the music scene. Additionally, she has been involved in philanthropic efforts, such as sponsoring the education of a young fan from class 5 through university, demonstrating her commitment to giving back to the community.
