His ascent to stardom began in 2016 when he won the MTN Hitmaker competition, where he grabbed listeners with his excellent singing ability, as seen by hits such as ‘Jennifer Lomotey’. However, it was his association with Highly Spiritual Records that catapulted him into the limelight, offering him a platform to reach a wider audience and showcase his talent on a larger scale.
In an exclusive interview with Afia Owusu on TV XYZ’s Xzone, Kurl Songx freely acknowledged the importance of Highly Spiritual Records in his path. He highlighted that without their backing, he would not have attained the degree of accomplishment he has today. Reflecting on the music industry’s dynamics, he noted that artists would eventually leave their labels in search of growth and new chances.
Kurl Songx emphasized the importance of artist management and the need for competent direction and assistance when navigating the industry’s intricacies. He stated that, while it is natural for artists to seek new opportunities, having excellent management has helped him advance in his professional life.
“It’s important for us to grow, and sometimes as business-minded individuals, we may not want to remain with one label for too long. Eventually, the time comes when artists want to explore other opportunities and see what comes next,”
“For me, having management is crucial. It has helped me tremendously.” He explained during the interview.
Despite his current status of being without management after parting ways with Highly Spiritual Records, Kurl Songx remains optimistic about the future, embracing the opportunities that lie ahead as he continues to evolve and thrive in the dynamic world of music.
