The REX directed video which was released on October 24, also has a bible reference. The video is set in a place where Kuami Eugene works on a plantation with other people.

The wife of the plantation owner saw Kuami and was attracted to him. She then ambushed him in his room for sex but Eugene rejected her and just like Potiphar’s wife cried to her husband, the wife of the plantation owner also cried to her husband that Eugene touched her. The video has earned 954,241 views after 1 month of premiere. The video is embedded below for your viewing pleasure.

The song has, however, created division among many music lovers. Some music lovers think the song should be counted as a gospel song while others believe it is only an inspirational song and not Gospel. Obiaato is already having 119074 views on

4. Kofi Kinaata – Things Fall Apart

In October 2019,  month ago, the Things Fall Apart writer and singer, Kofi Kinaata (formally called Martin King Arthur) released his song that took to the music industry and caused a stir online and on the airwaves. Ghanaians on Twitter reacted to the song by tweeting their opinions of the song – some quoting their favourite lines of the song and many more hailing him for the message of the song.

His refrain which translates in English as “And so is this how we are worshipping God?” is the rhetorical question directed to the church in Ghana and the Christians in Ghana. The title is mentioned once in the song when he refers to the churches with schools that their members cannot afford. It is absurd and really goes to support his claim that things have indeed fallen apart there.

Kofi Kinaata - Things Fall Apart (Prod. By Two Bars)

The introductory lines are profound and attest to Kinaata’s skills as a songwriter. Without saying much he makes use of metonymy and imagery and paints a picture of double standards of most church members in Ghana. As depicted in the poster for the song, a black man holds up the alcoholic bottle that is laced with the rosary. In Ghana, Fridays in the Christian circles are associated with all-night church services where the congregation is believed to be praying and warring against the devil who is blamed for all their problems.

The official Video features cameo appearances from Pamela Odame Watara, Dr. Pounds & Jacinta. Directed by Babs Direction, produced by Two Bars.  It has 978,756 views 2 weeks after premiere and 15402 views on

6. Kwesi Arthur – Nobody Ft. Mr. Eazi

Jubilant songs inspired by botched love can be very catchy, but as “Nobody”, the collaboration from Kwesi Arthur and Mr Eazi shows, songs wallowing in the despair of heartbreak can be just as moving. Ghanaian, Ground Up Chale singer, Kwesi Arthur, on April 12 teamed up with Mr Eazi for his hit single which was featured on his ‘Live From Nkrumah 2’ project.

Over the laid back beat Mog Beatz produces, blending mid-tempo drum riffs, ambient synths, flute harmonies and percussion, Kwesi Arthur and Mr Eazi reminisce about the fun times they had with their ex. Though the love has gone sour, they both swear they will never be able to love anyone else and seem unprepared to move on; If E Be Joke Girl Tell Me Say You Just Dey Play/ I Don’t Want To Live A Day Without You/ If E Be Sey I Do Somethings, I Just Go Change”. The beat mirrors their heart-wrenching vocal performance, infusing a bone-chilling flute harmony to match the breathless melody they sing with as though they are wailing.

The music video Yaw Skyface directs for “Nobody” shows Kwesi Arthur and Mr Eazi as they quarrel with their love interests at a fast food place. Though Kwesi Arthur seems to make up with his lover after an emotional performance in the rain, Mr Eazi has no such luck.
