Sarkodie Apologizes To President Akuffo Addo Over Happy Day Tweet. Rapper, Sarkodie has apologized to President Akuffo Addo over a comment he made about him on Twitter several months ago. Prior to the 2020 elections, Sarkodie released the hit song titled ‘Happy Day’ which featured Highlife singer, Kuami Eugene. In the song, Sarkodie made some references to President Akuffo Addo’s slogans by saying ‘Nana Toaso’ which literally translates as ‘continue, Nana and ‘The Battle Is Still The Lord’s’.
A lot of Ghanaians, after hearing the line in the song, then concluded that the rapper had endorsed Akufo-Addo for another term. The president then reacted to the song in a tweet describing it as a “nice song” while repeating a line in the song.
However, Sarkodie responded in a tweet that he didn’t praise the president in the song.
He wrote;
“Nana M3nfa bronya ho nre akoko oo lool !! 🙏🏾 when I say aban ( all parties ) Shouts to yourself x JM but if I feel like pointing out the negatives too you know how we do 😉 👊🏾🇬🇭 #HappyDay”
Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty earlier today, Sarkodie apologized for the tweet saying; “I want to use this opportunity to apologize to President Akufo Addo. I didn’t mean it in a harmful way. I just wanted to make a lighter situation out of the issue.”
