Yaw Tog, born Thorsten Owusu Gyimah on May 8, 2003, in Santasi, Kumasi, is a Ghanaian rapper and songwriter widely recognized as one of the pioneers of the Asakaa (Ghanaian drill) movement. He rose to prominence in 2020 with his breakout hit Sore, featuring O’Kenneth, Reggie, Jay Bahd, and City Boy. The song became an anthem for Ghanaian youth and introduced the world to the vibrant Kumasi drill scene. Following the massive success of Sore, Yaw Tog released a remix featuring UK rapper Stormzy and Kwesi Arthur, which gained international attention and millions of streams.
