Akwaboah, born Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr on August 30, 1988, is a talented Ghanaian singer, songwriter, and producer celebrated for his soulful blend of highlife, R&B, and Afro-soul music. Hailing from Mampong Beposo in the Ashanti Region, he grew up in a deeply musical family — his father, Kwadwo Akwaboah Snr, and grandfather were both renowned highlife musicians. Akwaboah began his career writing hit songs for top Ghanaian artists such as Becca (“Daa Ke Daa”) and DSP Kofi Sarpong (“Ayeyi Ndwom”). His powerful vocals and emotional songwriting earned him wide acclaim, especially after releasing songs like “I Do Love You” and “Matters of the Heart.” He later joined SarkCess Music, owned by rapper Sarkodie, where he further honed his artistry.
