Nana Acheampong – Due K. Fosu “Daddy Lumba Tribute”

Ghanaian highlife legend Nana Acheampong has released a touching new song titled “Due K. Fosu.” The track is a special tribute to his longtime friend and music partner, the late Charles Kwadwo Fosu, better known as Daddy Lumba. The song was officially released on August 21, 2025, just weeks after the passing of Daddy Lumba on July 26, 2025.

Running for 3 minutes and 52 seconds, “Due K. Fosu” carries deep emotions and reflects the love and respect Acheampong had for his brother in music. Together, they once formed the famous Lumba Brothers in the 1980s, a duo that introduced Ghana to Burger-Highlife. Their first and only album, Yɛɛyɛ Aka Akwantuo Mu in 1989, became a timeless classic. Although both later pursued solo careers, their partnership remains unforgettable.

Acheampong, also called “Champion Lover Boy,” has enjoyed a successful career for more than three decades. His hit songs include Casanova, Naanka ɛbɛyɛ dɛn, and Meko Odo Enkyen. He is also the father of rising Afrobeat and RnB singer Gyakie. Earlier in August 2025, he released another single titled Ne Ma Yi before dedicating this heartfelt tribute to Daddy Lumba.

Daddy Lumba, born September 29, 1964, was one of Ghana’s most celebrated highlife musicians. He won many awards, including Ghana Music Awards, the Borga Highlife Lifetime Award in 2023, and the Grand Medal of Ghana in 2024. His sudden passing shocked fans across the world, leaving behind an unmatched legacy in African music.
