Northern Ghana rap icon Maccasio, whose birth name is Sherif Abdul Majeed, has released a fiery new single titled “Mani” (Dagbani for “Me”). The track, produced by AlienBeatz, officially dropped on June 28, 2025, and is already making waves on streaming platforms and social media.
The official music video, directed by TMP Studios, premiered yesterday on Maccasio’s YouTube channel. It opens with visuals of Maccasio entering the studio, confidently delivering his aggressive yet melodic flow set over AlienBeatz’s dynamic and crisp production. The beat is packed with fast-paced percussion and bold horn elements, creating an energetic atmosphere that mirrors the track’s lyrical confidence.
Running approximately three minutes and thirty-seven seconds, the song is sharp, punchy, and replay-friendly. Maccasio delivers his verses in a blend of Dagbani and English, using street slang and rhythmic hooks to express determination, self-worth, and personal evolution. The chorus is catchy, filled with local energy and lyrical swagger, making it an instant anthem for his growing fanbase.
Maccasio has steadily built a reputation as one of the most respected voices from Ghana’s northern region. Born in Tamale on April 6, 1995, he began his career in 2014 with the album Bousu and has since released a string of hits that cross between hip-hop, Afrobeat, and traditional rhythms. He has performed alongside artists such as Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, and Davido, and has earned recognition at the Northern Entertainment Awards, Ghana Music Awards UK, and 3 Music Awards.
Just ahead of releasing “Mani,” Maccasio teased the song on X with a simple caption: “Drops tomorrow Mani (Me).” Since its release, fans on TikTok and Instagram have started the #ManiChallenge, celebrating the song’s bold message with dance videos and freestyles. The official video is quickly climbing in views, while fan-made clips are adding momentum to the rollout.
This release follows earlier 2025 singles like Kaman How and adds to his legacy of creating music that inspires youth and celebrates identity. His previous tracks Dagomba Girl featuring Mugeez and Too Big with Shatta Wale remain fan favorites across the country.
“Mani” is now available on YouTube, Apple Music, Spotify, Audiomack, and other streaming platforms. It continues Maccasio’s streak of releasing purposeful music that blends northern pride, lyrical authenticity, and danceable production.
