During the global lockdown period in 2020, many DJs found creative ways to keep music lovers entertained, and DJ Putin joined the movement with the release of “The Lockdown (EP. 1).” The mix was released on 23 March 2020 as a special project to lift people’s spirits while many stayed indoors.
Built around trap and hip-hop, the mixtape delivers a nonstop selection of energetic songs designed to keep listeners engaged from start to finish. Rather than slowing things down, DJ Putin keeps the momentum alive with smooth transitions and a carefully arranged playlist that makes the mix enjoyable whether you’re relaxing at home, working out or driving.
The Lockdown (EP. 1) reflects the mood of its time, using music to provide entertainment during a period when live events and social gatherings had come to a halt. The project quickly attracted listeners on streaming platforms and became one of DJ Putin’s recognised mixes from 2020.
If you’re a fan of trap and hip-hop mixes, or you’re revisiting some of the music that defined the lockdown era, this project is worth adding to your playlist.
