Scorcher, whose real name is Tayo Jarrett, has also contributed significantly to the UK grime scene through his solo releases and involvement with The Movement, a collective associated with several recognised British rappers.

Their collaboration on “History” introduces Stonebwoy to the recording, creating another musical connection between the United Kingdom and Ghana.

Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla, has built an international reputation through his combination of reggae, dancehall and Afrobeats.

His involvement brings Ghanaian representation to a collaboration featuring two musicians with longstanding connections to British grime.

The recording credits Tyrone Lindo, Tayo Jarrett and Livingstone Etse Satekla as lyricists, recognising the songwriting contributions of all three performers.

Before its official release, the song received attention following its BBC Radio 1Xtra premiere, with clips circulating online and introducing listeners to the collaboration.

For Stonebwoy’s supporters, “History” provides another opportunity to hear the BHIM Nation leader working with international musicians.

Meanwhile, followers of Big Narstie and Scorcher can explore a recording that connects their grime background with an established African dancehall performer.

The collaboration adds another title to the growing collection of musical partnerships between Ghanaian and British artistes.
