King Promise – CCTV Ft. Sarkodie & Mugeez (Prod. By Killbeatz)

After an outstanding breakthrough year in 2017, King Promise kicked off 2018 with “CCTV,” a star-studded collaboration featuring Sarkodie and Mugeez. Released on 17 May 2018 under Legacy Life Entertainment, the song was produced by KillBeatz and served as the lead single from King Promise’s debut album, As Promised.

On “CCTV,” King Promise delivers a heartfelt message about God’s constant protection and guidance. The title is inspired by closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras that watch over people at all times. Through the song, the artistes compare God’s presence to a CCTV camera, reminding listeners that even when they cannot see Him, He is always watching over them, protecting them and directing their steps.

King Promise opens the record with his smooth vocals before Mugeez adds his signature melodies. Sarkodie rounds off the collaboration with a reflective verse, sharing his journey, expressing gratitude and encouraging listeners to trust God’s timing. The chemistry between the three artistes creates a record that is both inspirational and enjoyable.

Production was handled by KillBeatz, who also composed the song. His warm Afrobeats production blends soft percussion, melodic guitars and rich harmonies, allowing the vocals and message to remain the focus throughout the four-minute track.

The official music video, directed by Justin Campos, was released on the same day as the single and received millions of views across digital platforms. The visuals reinforce the song’s message of faith, gratitude and divine protection through colourful scenes and strong storytelling.

“CCTV” went on to become one of King Promise’s biggest songs, earning nominations for Song of the Year, Best Collaboration of the Year and Highlife Song of the Year at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. The record remains one of the standout songs from the As Promised album and continues to inspire listeners years after its release.
